These strange and remote barren rocks off the coast of Venezuela, "Les Monjes", home only to a few Venezuelan coastguard and many seabirds who have turned the rocks white in places. The low lying part in the middle is constructed from broken rock and a rope is secured between the two islands for visiting yachts to tie onto. The wind howled all night through the gap but we were quite safe!

A house in Five Bays, Colombia where we spent Christmas. There was no electric light here, just torches and oil lamps. We saw several torches being flashed from the otherwise black hillside during the night and wondered if they were signalling to boats in the bay for some ever so slightly illicit reason? The bay next door is notorious for such activity apparently. We didn't stay and ask questions!

Christmas Day aboard Delicado. She's a lovely boat, all beautifully varnished inside and out. We had cold turkey and ham from Curacao, roast potatoes, peas and carrots followed by alcoholic Caribbean Christmas cake and custard! Wonderful!!
