The Hilton Hotel, where many of us spend rather a lot of time these days, has lizards running around all over the lawns. This one posed quite nicely for me.
Jane Hearne (of Channel TV fame) led a group of us out to some of the sights and sites along the Omani coast. It might not look much but this picture shows many species of large bird, including flamingoes and the Queen of Sheba's palace beyond. We plan to visit soon.
We decided to stay here at this very pleasant spot where those who are so inclined went snorkelling. A starfish and a large unidentified (as yet) shell were unearthed for the photo shoot and then gently placed back in the water. This is Pete (Fai Tira) and Glenda (Lucy Alice) with aforementioned sealife. They also found cuttlefish which were left and two parrot fish which were speargunned and later BBqed. Very nice they were too!
Another find was this very very recently deceased green turtle (It hadn't really started to smell yet!). Kiwi Gavin (Sol Maria) felt the need for a trophy and so decided to gut the poor dead thing. Not for the squeamish!!
