Here's Jane, THE face of Channel television for 25 years as anyone who ever had a Puffin's birthday greeting will know. She and her husband, Andy, who works out here have been really kind to us and we have all sorts of things planned now to make our stay more interesting.
Taken by John of Fai Tira on our day out into the Dhofar mountains which are composed of young limestone (yawn!!)...but note the impressive geology book I'm holding which belongs to Sue (UK warden for Oman) and which I have promised to guard with my life!

On our twisty turny route up into the Dhofar mountains, we were followed by this huge truck carrying hay into God knows where!
